Waves of colourfulness shone across our classroom. It was our collages. In room 6 we made beautiful collages of people and animals. We started doing face collages and the pieces were the size of a bee. Jake's background pieces were the colours of a rainbow but Teina's colours of her background were brown like chocolate of cowpoo. When we were making them it felt like it was going on forever. We cut up lots of different shapes and glued them on the creative collage. The next collages we made were animals. The animals were as beautiful as a flower just blooming. The pictures looked like they were real and the collages were as bright as the sun. When they were finished we couldn't believe our eyes.

Room 6 Mini Talent-Show
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Room 6 mini talent show. Last Wednesday we had an amazing talent show. We had the talent show because sadly a child was leaving Room 6. Her name was Jessica. Some of the children in the class did fabulous singing and performing. The people had just the perfect voices because they were brave, confident and they had just heaps of brightness. They were just as brilliant as an angel singing including the boy ones. We couldn't believe how many people came with the talent inside of them. We think it's in their blood. They had picked the perfect songs for themselves and they were fantastic in the songs that they performed. When Ellie performed she was nervous like facing a tiger but she felt very proud to do a good job. People had the most wonderful comments to share as well.

David Hill Visit
David Hill once flung his finger inside of a gooey nostril.
David Hill came to our school to tell us about his writing career. He told us about lots and lots of books. He told us about so many interesting books which were the most interesting things on Earth. He has written 25 books. His daughter got bitten by a dog which was interesting so he wrote a story about her. The story about her was called Danger Dog. His first book Seeya Simon has brilliant pages!

Cross Country at Nayland College
Tuesday 11th June
Today we went to Nayland College to do cross country. It was muddy and my shoes got muddy too. I came 11th in my race. I was in the 8 year old girls race. I yelled really loud when I was supporting the other runners in my house group.

Cross Country at Nayland College
Tuesday 11th June
Today the whole of Nayland Primary went to Nayland College for cross country. We had to sit on some tarpaulins and they were a little wet. Most of the parents were there to support their child. Then the races kicked off with the five year old boys. Next was the five year old girls, then it was the six year old boys, then the six year old girls. Eventually it got to the seven and eight and nine year olds. That's the people in our class. Everyone tried really hard and we did great. Some of us like Riria even got first, second or third.

Handball
My name is Jahzin and I love handball. I'm going to tell you all about it.
How do you play handball?
With a handball you need to bounce the ball in your square and then it bounces in the other person's square.
Who do I play handball with?
I play with Jake, James, Jacob, Jonah, Nathan, Riria, Riley and Lee.
Why do I like to play handball?
I like to play because it is fun and cool, and I am good at it.

McKenzie in Christchurch
Hi my name is McKenzie. I had last week off school to go to Christchurch and I'm going to tell you about it. I went to Christchurch to have a check up and go to disney on ice. We first stayed in a hotel called 11am. Then we stayed in Ronald McDonald house. My family only felt one earthquake while we were there. My Aunty and Uncle live there and also my companion from Camp quality. Her name is Beck. She is coming to Nelson this weekend to see me, mum, dad, Lexi and Leo (my whole family). On Tuesday it rained, hailed and snowed and on the way back home we went through the Lewis. IT WAS SNOWING!!! We got to stop on the side of the road and play in it. While we were playing my brother giggled at the snow. My sister took photos of the snow as we drove along. We also had dirt all over our car. Along the road we saw some hawks and pigs. The best part was when my brother giggled at the snow.
